I Will Sustain The Traditional Heritage Of Oyo State - Makinde

The Governor of Oyo state, Engr. Oluseyi Makinde has reaffirmed his determination to sustain the traditional heritage of the state.

Making his address during the 40th day of Fidau prayer held for the Late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Adetunji, Engr. Makinde stated that his administration will sustain the traditional heritage of the state which he believes will enhance peace in the pacesetter state.

A seasoned engineer turned state governor spoke further that Ibadan has laid down rules and regulations that guide its traditional institutions, pointing out that the principle is so unique that it eschews all forms of crisis that is being witnessed in other parts of the country as regards the selection of a new monarch.

The governor assured the entire people of the state that his administration will do everything possible to ensure that the tradition of the people is preserved at all times.

Engr. Makinde also spoke on the demise of the late Olubadan, stating that Oba Adetunji is like a father to him during his days, giving relevant advice that has helped him to design a sound template for the people of the state.

He further described the late monarch as a humble personality, very accommodating, progressive minded and a peace loving royal father, stressing the need for all other royal fathers in the country to emulate his good works on earth.

Gov. Makinde pledges to continue to bring to a reality his campaign promises to the electorate, pointing out that the populace should support his administration in prayers in a bid to make the state best among others.

He hinted that his administration is determined to reduce the hardships on the people through infrastructural development that will create the much needed impetus for the private sector to flourish and by extension, create jobs that will reduce poverty among the people.
